Bangalore: A Karnataka police constable has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl in Arsikere village, 200 kilometers from Bangalore.
The constable Shashidhar was reportedly drunk and raped the 12-year-old girl at the local bus stand at 0200 hrs, IST.
“We have arrested the policeman. He has been send to judicial custody. The victim has been subjected to medical examination. All legal formalities are done and he will be suspended from his post,” said K R Srinivasan, DG, Karnataka.
The accused constable has a prior case of eve teasing registered against him.
He has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. The victim's medical report is still awaited.
