BANGALORE: ‘3G online gaming contest’, a gaming event was organised on December 12 by Tata DOCOMO, a telecom brand of Tata Teleservices Limited. The grand finale took place on December 24 and all the winners were called to compete with each other on the final round. Winners were declared and awarded with exciting prizes like Samsung galaxy S2 and Nokia C5 Handsets. The 12 day mega gaming contest started on a grand note registering more than 130 participants on the first day itself. The event was open to all gamers, both Tata DOCOMO and non-DOCOMO customers from Monday to Saturday. Contest witnessed over 800 game enthusiasts who participated and played with full vigor at Tata DOCOMO Dive-In stores in Koramangala and Richmond Road. At the end of the contest, over 66 winners were selected for the finale. The grand finale saw a huge number of participation and the store was filled with gamers and spectators alike.Announcing the winners of the gaming contest, A P Sriram, chief operating officer, Tata DOCOMO, Karnataka Circle said, “Our effort in organising this first time ever a live 3G gaming contest was a runaway success with hundreds of participants having avid interests in games. A thrilling and a fun filling experience set the enthusiasts gamers to test their abilities in real life scenario. The beauty of this contest was to have an open participation policy that was open to all and not just restricted to Tata DOCOMO customers. From day one of the launch of the brand, our focus has been youth and to woo them we do initiate and launch various products and services that is not only relevant, but affordable.”Sriram further added that, “The main objective of the event was to offer the game lovers in the city a platform to experience uninterrupted, speedy and quality service on Tata DOCOMO 3G network through this online gaming contest. We are very happy with the overwhelming response to this gaming contest event in Bangalore and hope this becomes a long lasting experience for the participants and game lovers.”The favourite and most popular games were car racing game on HD-asphalt and the multi player first person shooter-modern combat which drew the attention of the online game lovers. All these games have been powered by Indiagames Ltd and Gameloft. Modern Combat and Paper Scissor were played online on the Tata DOCOMO 3G network. Every day top scorers from each center were selected and given Tata DOCOMO goodies. There were a total of 9 winners selected for the games Asphalt and Modern Combat.
