Patrolling has started in all sensitive areas and 55000 police personnel have been deployed on the election day.

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has made all the necessary arrangements for the February 7 polls. Patrolling has already started in all sensitive areas to ensure a free and fair election in the city.

On the election day, 55000 police personnel will be deployed by the Delhi Police. Reportedly, senior officers have been appointed to monitor the situation.

"We will do virtual patrolling from 3900 CCTV cameras," informed Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi.

Bassi cleared Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) allegation on the functioning of the Delhi police stating that they were working under no pressure. Bassi clarified, "Naresh Baliyan was suspected and thus was called for questioning. We had evidence against Baliyan. We are not harassing anybody."

Calling Delhi Police an independant body, Bassi reiterated that the organisation would never tolerate any kind of pressure from any outside body.

The counting of votes to the 70-member Assembly will be held on February 10, which shall decide Delhi's fate.
