Reportedly, the Princess was convinced she was going to be "bumped off".

London: Princess Diana's fears that there was a plot to kill her stemmed from warnings from psychics, it has been claimed.

The inquest into Diana's death has heard that the Princess was convinced she was going to be "bumped off".

So far, it has been thought that the princess must have received information from a reliable source in the secret forces.

But, in a latest twist, it emerged that Diana's death fears were fuelled by a host of psychics, mediums and spiritual healers she consulted.

Spiritual adviser Rita Rogers has admitted that she told Diana she had a premonition that the brakes of her car had been tampered with.

Rogers also claimed that she had "a feeling of danger" when she met Diana's boyfriend Dodi Al Fayed and that she "felt a connection with France".

Self-styled healer and friend of Diana, Simone Simmons, revealed that the princess had bumped into a car when her brakes failed on the way home after visiting her.

"She was terrified. She said, 'They're trying to bump me off.' By “they”, she said she meant MI5 or MI6. She didn't have any evidence. All she knew is that they saw her as loose cannon,” the Mirror quoted Simmons, as saying.

"I said she should check to see if the brakes had been tampered with,” she added.

Simmons further said that the princess had hundreds of sessions with psychics, holistic healers, spiritual advisers and mediums during this period.

"She saw lots of wacky astrologers. Some of the things she did were beyond the pale. One time she came in to see me and she had white stripes on her leg,” she said.

“She said she had been to see a healer recommended to her by the Duchess of York who had taped fossils to her legs and she had to walk around with them. She also sat under a plastic pyramid which the healer called Madame Vasso told her would produce 'good energy',” she added.

Diana, 36, Dodi al-Fayed, 42, and chauffeur Henri Paul were killed on Aug 31, 1997, when their Mercedes car crashed in a road tunnel as they sped away from the Ritz Hotel in Paris, pursued by paparazzi.
