KOCHI: The Ernakulam district panchayat is all set to serve you digitally with a blog. Soon, you can browse through www.dpernakulam.blogspot.in to know what is cooking inside the district panchayat.The blog, which has just been created, will contain information regarding the decisions taken in the district panchayat meetings, notices and other project reports.“We began digitising contents from the last one year to create an online file rack. The blog will host almost all information regarding the projects undertaken by us,” said district panchayath president Eldhose Kunnapilly.www.dpernakulam.blogspot.com will also allow people to track their applications or know about the status of the files.“The blog will be very helpful for the people as it will help them track all the applications online,” Kunnapilly added.The blog is aimed at serving as a platform to increase transparency, through publishing project reports and the details of funds used for various projects, an official with the district panchayat said. The blog will also be a guide for the general public about the various procedures involved.It will also serve as a means of communication for the local panchayat members, the official said. The district panchayat had hosted a test blog about six months back.The designing of the blog is underway so that it becomes an interactive platform for the people to express their grievances and comment on various issues.
