New Delhi: A controversial film by a right-wing Dutch MP equating Islam with violence is now posted on the Internet, the film has been banned from screening in public, but Muslims across the world are up in arms.

The controversial film by Dutch MP Geert Wilders is now there for the world to see on the Internet. The right-wing politician posted his 17-minute-long film Fitna that is allegedly critical of Islam's holy book, the Koran.

The film has been posted on the video-sharing website LiveLeak, but its planned release has sparked angry protests in Muslim countries.

The Dutch PM has said that the film serves no purpose as it only offends by equating Islam with violence. Dutch broadcasters have declined to show the film by the 44-year-old MP who lives under police protection following earlier death threats.

The UK-based website LiveLeak which allowed the film to be posted online defended its decision saying, "We have a strict stance on remaining unbiased and allowing freedom of speech so far as the law and our rules allow."
