BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda owns assets worth Rs 3.16 crore and has liabilities to the tune of Rs 1.69 crore as per the declaration filed along with his nomination papers before the returning officer for the by-election to the Legislative Council on Monday.There is not much change in the assets and liabilities of the CM as seen in the nomination papers he filed on Monday and the earlier one that he filed before the Lokayukta on September 2 after taking over as the CM on August 3.His assets include five houses, about 22 acres of agricultural land and a residential site measuring 50X80 ft worth Rs 20 lakh in HSR Layout. He is also constructing a house on the HSR Layout site worth Rs 66 lakh.The CMis insured under LIC bond for Rs 2 lakh, an increase by Rs 50,000, owns a Scorpio worth Rs 12.85 lakh and 50 gms of gold.He has availed himself of loans from Corporation Bank, Federal Bank Ltd and Karnataka Cooperative Apex Bank.Gowda’s wife Datty is insured for Rs 15 lakh and she has 422 gms of gold, 1.25 kg of silver besides owning 8.45 acres of agricultural land. The total value of the assets she owns, including 0.07 acres of land at Jala hobli in Bangalore urban district and buildings at Puttur and Mangalore, is Rs 1.50 crore.Gowda’s son D S Karthik owns a Scoda Fabia worth Rs 6 lakh and is insured for Rs 15 lakh. The CM has not mentioned in his declaration about owning a revolver and a gun.
