Electoral roll released

VELLORE/THIRUVANNAMALAI: The supplementary electoral roll-4 released in Vellore and Tiruvannamalai by the respective collectors on Thursday, showed that there are currently 26,63,003 voters (13,26,765 men, 13,36,225 women) in Vellore and 17,18,868 (8,60,639 men and 8, 58,229 women)in Tiruvannamalai.In Vellore, the roll was released by collector S Nagarajan in the presence of the representatives of various political parties and election officials at the Collectorate. DRO Sundaravalli, RDO Jayasree, Collector’s PA (Election) S Ravichandran and other officials were present on the occasion. The copies of the electoral list will be displayed for public view at the offices of the revenue departments, voter enrolment offices, sub-collector and RDO, tahsildars and municipal commissioners. As per the roll, there are 26,63,003 voters (13,26,765 men, 13,36,225 women) registering a rise of 1,64,837 voters over the previous roll. The new voters comprised 79,799 men, 85,025 women and 13 others. New voters who have enrolled between October 24 and November 11, 2011 would received their voters id cards on January 25.In Tiruvannamalai, Collector Anshul Misra released the roll, on Thursday stating that the net electors is 17,18,868 (8,60,639 men and 8, 58,229 women). As many as 96,969 persons have been included during the drive between October 24 to November 11, 2011 while 595 have been deleted from the roll.
