THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has urged the State Government to take steps to end the uncertainty over admissions to medical and engineering courses. In a statement here on Monday, he said that the the results of the MBBS entrance were published on May 24 and that of engineering admissions on June 10. However, the allotment to both medical and engineering courses had been dragging on indefinitely. This created anxiety in the minds of the students seeking admissions to these courses. Last year, the seat allotment had reached the final stages by the end of July, he said. This year only the allotment to government medical colleges have been completed till now. The State Government had derailed the admission process while the admission process in other states have been completed. This created the suspicion that the delay was to help private professional colleges in other states to enable them to get the maximum number of students from the state, he said.
