KOZHIKODE: Extremist elements are being monitored in the state, said Minister of State for Home Affairs Mullappally Ramachandran on Saturday.
He was speaking to mediapersons after inaugurating P T Madhusoodana Kurup memorial meet at Kozhikode Town Hall. "We cannot claim that Kerala is a state where no extremist forces are operating," admitted Mullappally Ramachandran.
Monitoring has been strengthened in the state to prevent any untoward incident, he added. Investigation regarding the Mumbai blasts is progressing on the right track and the progress is satisfactory, claimed the minister. Mullappally also urged to fight the anticonstitutional moves in the name of protesting against corruption. Leaders of the political parties which supported the demolition of Babri Masjid are now supporting the fight against corruption, said Mullappally, adding that the Indian National Congress had always been fighting against corruption.
