KOCHI: After the stamp paper scam was busted in Thiruvananthapuram district, the police have decided to issue a directive to all the district headquarters to carry out strict monitoring in courts across the state.A special alert will be issued to the Kochi city police as the major courts are located here. The decision came following a high-level meeting of the police officials held at the police headquarters the other day. The police in mufti will be deployed at the court complexes to prevent such illegal activities. The state special branch has also been directed to be vigilant. Stamp paper vendors will also be scrutinised, the sources at the police headquarters said. “We have taken all the necessary actions and people involved in the scam will soon be traced. We are also examining whether the fake stamp racket has links with courts in Kochi,” the sources said. After the initial investigation, the police suspect that people from other states are also involved in the fraud. “We think fake stamp papers are being smuggled from other states.
