Fight between Congress, BJD in Jharsuguda

JHARSUGUDA: It is a direct fight between the Congress and the BJD in Jharsuguda district in the panchayat polls.Political observers said the outcome will have a bearing on the next Assembly polls and it is a ‘do or die’ for both Congress and the BJD. If Congress wins, it will reassure Congress Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das of his supremacy in the  district. The defeat of BJD Rajya Sabha member Kishore Mohanty will prove to be the last nail in the coffin of the party in the district.Both the parties have their hands full with issues. The industrialisation factor will also play a major role with the industries already sandwiched between the Congress which has the ruling MLA and the BJD that holds the State Government.The observers added that the Congress has an edge taking into consideration the good work done by Das, his proximity to the voters and instant redressal of grievances which have helped him grow in the district.On the other hand, allegations of involvement of Das in the land acquisition for industries would be used by BJD for its benefit.
