BANGALORE:  The High Court on Thursday directed the State government to file a rejoinder in connection with a public interest litigation seeking action for misuse of the State flag. The petitioner  and advocate Prakash Shetty has approached the court alleging misuse of flag by Karnataka Rakshana Vedike President Narayanagowda to serve personal ends.Counsel for the respondent Karnataka Rakshana Vedike President Narayanagowda stated that the State flag is not governed by the Flag Code of India and Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971. The organisations which are fighting for Kannada and Karnataka have created this flag as a symbol to use during occasions.Hearing the petition, the division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna directed the State government to file a rejoinder within four weeks and adjourned the matter for further hearing on the case.Police Asked to probe Film City Case.The High Court on Thursday rejected the petition to quash the FIR against Innovative Film City owner K Saravana Prasad and director Radhika Achyutanand, and directed the state police to probe into the `3 crore fraud case.The Owner of Innovative Film City K Saravana Prasad, directors Radhika Achyutanand and Upasana Mittal are accused of cheating businessman J Somashekar to the tune of Rs 3 crore. The Ulsoor police had filed an FIR against them. The petitioners, Saravana Prasad and others had filed a petition to quash the FIR. Hearing the petition Justice N Anand dismissed it and directed the state police to conduct a probe against them.Excise Dept Directed to File ReportThe court directed the Excise Department to file a report following a complaint from private liquor shop owners alleging that Mysore Sales International Limited (MSIL) is opening wine shops according to its whims and fancies without adhering to rules.Petitioner Abdul Khalil alleged that MISL which has opened wine shops is violating the Sale of Indian Liquor Rule 11 C by opening liquor shops like this. Hearing the petition, the division bench comprising Chief Justice Vikramajit Sen and Justice B V Nagarathna directed the Excise Department to file a report.
