Gau Rakshaks Work Under Law, Says RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Tuesday came in support of the gau rakshaks (cow protectors) saying that they operate under law.

"There are some people who are dedicated to cow protection, it is part of directive principles of state policy," Bhagwat said while delivering his annual speech during the 91st foundation day of RSS.

"There are cow protection laws in various states. Gau rakshaks (cow vigilantes) operate within the realm of law, administration must keep in mind that those who break the law shouldn't be compared to gau rakshaks," he added.

The RSS was launched in September 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and its foundation day is celebrated annually on the day of Dussehra.
