GHMC, Water Board staff to join Samme Monday

HYDERABAD: The 'Sakala Janula Samme' is set to gain momentum in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS SB) from Monday as various unions have decided to actively take part in the ongoing stir.
The TJAC in the GHMC will hold a maha dharna in front of the GHMC head office on Monday and boycott property tax collection and building plan approvals among others and join the general strike from Tuesday.If the State government invokes the Essential Service Maintenance Act (ESMA) against them, the GHMC employees will not hesitate to stop the services like lifting of garbage, sweeping of roads and switching on and off street lights.
