Most denizens of the city are tea lovers, but only within home. The trend, however, is undergoing a change. No longer is this humble drink confined to grimy dhabas and college addas, or locked behind the counters of five-star hotel lounges. Chai is becoming cool and tea bars are the new hot-spots. The brewed beverage has started infusing into the milky layer of the Bhubaneswar social scene. One such hot-spot is the all-new Cha Bar in the Oxford Book Store at Pal Heights here. Considered a perfect lounging zone for tea and book lovers, the Bar has a loyal customer base. The book store - having a database of more than 30,000 books in all categories - allows one to read the book at the Cha Bar before making a purchase. Where more than 130 tea flavours promise to deliver the real punch to the tea lovers, the coffee lovers are not left far behind. They have great offerings like Espresso and Affogato that are clear favourites, amongst the basic cappuccino and Iced Cafe Latte. The Bar was recently renovated keeping the tastes of people frequenting the place in mind. One of the walls in the Bar has been converted into a teapot collectors display board. One can see a selection of teapots from Japan, China that decorate the wall. Bhaji Pakora and salad being the usual company to the tea, one can also select from the sandwiches, muffins and the pastries that Cha Bar offers. The menu also includes hot chocolate, milkshakes, wraps, fries amongst the numerous snacking delicacies.
