HYDERABAD: The executive committee of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), which met here on Monday under chairmanship of incharge metropolitan commissioner M T Krishna Babu, passed a budget of Rs 2,938 crore for the year 2012-13 as against Rs 4,486 crore for 2011-12.Last year, though the budget estimate was about Rs 4,486 crore, it was later revised to Rs 2,410 crore.The Rs 2,938-crore budget proposals include revenue expenditure of Rs 756 crore and capital expenditure of Rs 1,964 crore.A sum of Rs 1,581.60 cr has been earmarked for the Outer Ring Project (ORR) and Rs 144.59 cr for the Hussainsagar Lake Catchment cleaning and improvement project.Similarly, Rs 19.50 crore has been set aside for development of sites, Rs 191.24 cr for engineering works, Rs 8.85 crore for urban greening, Rs 2.90 crore for development of CDA roads, Rs 10.91 cr for HADA, Rs 5.12 crore for the Buddha Purnima Project (BPP), all totaling Rs 1,964.71 crore.The revenue income resources of Rs 973.50 cr to HMDA is from development charges (Rs 394 crore), revenue grant from govt for IT (Rs 540 crore), rental income (Rs 15.43 crore), park income (Rs 15.46 crore) and others.The HMDA is planning to raise capital resources of Rs 318 crore through sale of land, Rs 34.34 crore through sale of plots, Rs 2.95 crore through sale residential plots, Rs 25 crore from townships, etc.
