HYDERABAD: “The Hussain Sagar has undergone cleaning and its stinking reduced by 80 percent. It will be totally cleaned up by next month,” said Rajeshwar Tiwari, commissioner, Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority. Speaking at the curtain-raiser for the 26th National Sailing Championship on Sunday, he said the HMDA will provide full support to the Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) staff to become trained for disaster management organisations. The sailing event to be held from July 26 to 31 is being organised by the EME and Secunderabad Sailing Club. A group of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) who were trained by the EME, will also take part in the sailing competition.The curtain raiser witnessed a drill presented by the disaster relief team of the CRPF, showcasing their skills acquired under the safety boat handling training of the Yachting Association of India. Bijoy Ghosh, Group Commandant, CRPF, Chadrayangutta, said the EMS Sailing Club is a destination for learning sailing and laser sailing in particular. Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will be the chief guest for the inauguration of the sailing championship.
