The Kozhikode Judicial First Class Magistrate Court I, on Tuesday, posted for further hearing on the petition submitted by Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan requesting to hear his versions while considering the final report submitted by the SIT in the ice-cream parlour sabotage case to October 15. Magistrate P T Prakasan adjourned the case after a detailed hearing on Tuesday. The prosecution raised a few objections against the locus standi of VS to file such a petition in the case. Assistant Public Prosecutor Sreeja argued that no one except the accused, informant or the complainant has the right to file a petition and consequently Achuthanandan’s account should not be heard. Besides, VS is completely a third party in the case.
