Chennai: Tamil cinema's overnight poster boy Vijay Sethupathi, who has scored multiple hits with films such as 'Pizza', 'Soodhu Kavvum' and 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom' with debut directors, has signed thriller 'Mellisai' with another first-time director.
'Mellisai' is being directed by debutant Ranjith.
"I'm more interested in the story than the person who will direct it. Luckily, most of my projects so far have been with debutants because I was impressed with their stories. I don't do any and every film by a debutant that comes my way. I have also turned down a few projects," Vijay told IANS.
The actor is currently busy juggling between four projects, but still he went ahead and signed 'Mellisai'.
"I remember saying it recently that I won't sign any new projects this year, but I was so hooked on by the story of this film that I couldn't let go of it. I may get busier, but I'm happy that I didn't let go of a good project and I will continue doing such different films," he said.
With four back-to-back blockbusters, Vijay is awaiting the release of Tamil rural comedy 'Rummy' and comedy-drama 'Pannaiyarum Padminiyum', also with debutant directors.
