India, Pakistan MPs hold talks on improving trade
Two rounds of dialogues were earlier held in January 2011 in Islamabad and in August 2011 in New Delhi.

Islamabad: Indian and Pakistani parliamentarians on Tuesday discussed ways to improve trade and economic relations between the two countries.

At the Pakistan-India Parliamentarians' Dialogue-III in Islamabad, the MPs from both countries agreed that they had a major role to play in influencing their governments to take a leap forward to normalise bilateral relations, the Online news agency reported.

Pakistani Senator SM Zafar and Indian MP Yashwant Sinha, former minister for external affairs and finance, co-chaired the dialogue.

The dialogue will conclude on January 18.

The 15-member multi-party delegation from India arrived in Pakistan on Monday.

Two rounds of dialogues were earlier held in January 2011 in Islamabad and in August 2011 in New Delhi.

The Indian delegation comprises Rajya Sabha members Mani Shankar Aiyar, Derek O'Brien, Nand Kishore Singh, Naresh Gujral, P Rajeev, Rajniti Prasad and D Raja.

Member of the Lok Sabha joining the delegation are Yashwant Sinha, Asaduddin Owaisi, Baijayant Jay Panda, Deepender Hooda, Hamdullah Sayeed, Shahnawaz Hussain, Shatrughan Sinha, Supriya Sule and Bhartruhari Mahtab.
