New Delhi: Despite having no international assignments for six months, the Indian women's football team moved up a notch to 55th position in the latest FIFA rankings.
The team has compiled 1443 points and shares the spot with Haiti, who also gained one place from the one it occupied in the previous rankings released in March.
By virtue of the one spot gained, India have also entered the list of top-10 Asian sides.
Germany continued atop the world rankings with the United States and Norway occupying the next two places.
Brazil, which is the highest ranked men's team by a considerable margin, is placed fourth.
Sweden has moved up to fifth spot at the expense of France. North Korea and China are the top two Asian sides at seventh and eighth place respectively.
Denmark and Italy round off the top-10 in the latest rankings.
