Doha: Fired up by all the criticism back home, the Indian men's hockey team kept their hopes alive with a thumping 9-0 win over Oman on Friday in a Group-B match.
Forward Shivendra Singh pumped in three goals, while Tushar Khandekar and Hari Prasad struck two apiece.
Skipper Dilip Tirkey and Arjun Halappa chipped in with a goal each to complete the rout.
The Indians now have to beat the strong South Korean team, and that too by a big margin to qualify for the semi-finals.
