Geethu Mohandas' Hindi film 'Liar's Dice', has been selected as India's entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category for the 2015 Oscars.

It's official! Geethu Mohandas' Hindi film 'Liar's Dice', has been selected as India's entry in the Best Foreign Language Film category for the 2015 Oscars. 'Liar's Dice', which features Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Geetanjali Thapa in lead roles, was selected by a 12-member jury appointed headed by director T Hariharan. Here is a list of 10 unknown facts about the film:

1. The film was pitted against several films before it was selected as India's official entry at the Oscars this year. In addition to Hindi films such as Shahid, Queen, Mary Kom, Mardaani and 2 States, regional films Fandry (Marathi), Yellow (Marathi), Apur Pachali (Bengali)and Jatishwar (Bengali) were also considered.

2. The film, which has been set all along the Himachal-Tibet border, deals with issue of migration.

3. The film has been shot at the Chitkul village in Kinnaur district, Shimla, and many other locations in Delhi including the famous Jama Masjid.

4. Such has been the impact of the film that bagged two National Film Awards including, Best Actress for Geetanjali Thapa and Best Cinematography for Rajeev Rai at the 61st National Film Awards.

5. 'Liar's Dice' is Geethu Mohandas' first Hindi film and her second directorial venture.

6. Director Geetu Mohandas is also a popular actress in Malayalam cinema. She had also written the script of the film before her debut short Kelkkunndo in 2008.

7. The film's world premiere was held at Mumbai Film Festival in October 2013, where it took part in the Indian competition section.

8. 'Liar's Dice' was also selected for screening at the Sundance Film Festival and International Film Festival Rotterdam.

9. Appreciated at Sofia International Film Festival, 'Liar's Dice' also won a special jury award there.

10. The film was shot on a low budget. A small crew was used by the director who completed the film in a month's time (March, 2012).
