The fourmember Task Force, constituted to inspect the facilities and academic standards in professional colleges in the state, will commence its enquiry on Monday.
At a meeting with the Task Force officials, deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha directed them to complete the inspection in accordance with the court’s direction at the earliest.
He came down heavily on the colleges that have been flouting norms and minting money by collecting donations for B category seats.
He said that though the counselling for admissions in engineering colleges would be delayed this year, the system would get streamlined soon.
Technical education commissioner Ajay Jain, senior IAS officer SK Sinha, senior IPS officer Umesh Shroff, APSCHE president P Jayaprakash Rao and secretary P Sathi Reddy also attended the meeting.
Meanwhile, members of the Consortium of Engineering and Professional Colleges Management Associations, met here on Saturday, objected strongly to some colleges willing to accept Rs 50,200 as tuition fee.
Consortium general secretary N Ramesh said they had agreed and submitted affidavits for a common fee and would not agree for dual fee structures.
The consortium will meet again on Sunday to chalk out a roadmap, he added.
Ramesh said they were not afraid of the inspections and had provided facilities as per the norms.
