Internet Service Providers has registered a police complaint against Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack by hackers in Mumbai.
Mumbai: Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Mumbai has registered a police complaint against unprecedented Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack by hackers which has reduced the surfing speeds drastically across the city.
The complained was lodged by an Andheri-based Internet Service Provider after many small and medium service providers came under DDOS attack for nearly a week.
"We are investigating the matter. It is unprecedented because the attack is being carried out at 200 gigabytes per second," sources in the Mumbai police department said.
In a DDOS attack, a hacker can programme multiple IP addresses to log on to a server at the same time, causing the server to crash due to the load.
