Karachi: Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq says he is keen to make his last Test appearance in England one to remember.
Trailing 2-0 in the four-match series, the 36-year-old will lead Pakistan in the final Test against England at the Oval from Thursday.
"I will be playing my final Test match in England at the Oval and I want to make it a memorable one for myself and my team," Inzamam wrote in his column in leading urdu daily, Jang.
"I know a big score is overdue from me in this match and I aim to come good this time. Although we have lost the series, a Test match is a Test match and we will be going all out to win this one and I want to make a big contribution."
Inzamam, who made his Test debut in England in 1992, said he wanted to complete a hat-trick of Test victories at the Oval after featuring in wins at the ground in 1992 and 1996.
The Pakistan skipper also said he was not disheartened by the disappointing showing by the younger players and that he would continue to back them.
"They are the future of Pakistan cricket and one bad series does not mean their careers are over."
Inzamam shrugged off criticism he had failed to motivate the players in the heavy defeats in the second and third Tests, which led to the side's first Test-series loss in England since 1982.
"It is nothing new for me. Some people have used these defeats to promote their own agendas."
