Kolkata: Bengali actress Swastika Mukherjee is happy with the way her upcoming film 'Take One' has been shot. She has full frontal nudity in it and isn't bothered that the film has already generated a lot of buzz in the industry.
'Take One', which has been directed by Mainak Bhaumik, focuses on MMS scandals of film stars and is the first Bengali film showing full frontal nudity to get a commercial release.
"I have breastfed my baby girl for eight months. If despite that my boobs can look so good on camera, I am happy," Swastika told the Ananda Plus of the Anandabazar Patrika.
She doesn't understand what the fuss is all about either. Though this is the first film in her career where she has agreed to nude scenes (opposite a Delhi model called Baljit), Swastika told the Ananda Plus that she does not understand the hypocrisy of a society that publicly criticizes a woman who strips in front of the camera for scenes that it enjoys in private.
"Everyone saw the MMS clips of Chatrak (Paoli Dam appeared in nude scenes in the 2011 Bengali film directed by Sri Lankan director Vimukthi Jayasundara). I did not once think why did Paoli shoot those scenes?" she said.
Swastika has not used a body double to shoot the nude scenes. "I had asked Mainak to shoot the nude scenes in a way that they appear aesthetic so that people should fall in love with them. And I asked him that there should not be an MMS clip made of them."
