SAMBALPUR: It has been over two years since the Pal Commission was set up by the State Government to look into the demand for a permanent High Court bench in the region. The Commission, however, is yet to submit its report. And with the State Government dilly-dallying over the matter, the Sambalpur District Bar Association (SDBA) has decided to launch an economic blockade on June 30.In a meeting, it was decided that if the State Government still does not heed the demand, a fresh meeting would be convened and decision to go ahead with an indefinite economic blockade would be taken. It was resolved that on Tuesday, the lawyers would picket at Nelson Mandela Square to prevent entry of judicial officers into the court premises followed by closing down of all the financial institutions and State Government offices. On June 30, they would resort to economic blockade on NH-6 passing through the town at Ainthapali.
