PERUMBAVOOR: A 37-year-old employee of a plastic company died when a gang allegedly attacked him following an altercation in a KSRTC Bus at 7.30 pm on Monday. He was identified as Reghu of Palakkad working in Imago Index Plastic Company at Karottu Pallikkara.According to police, Reghu was caught redhanded when he pickpocketed a passenger, Santhosh of Deepalayam in Moovattupuzha, while travelling in a Thrissur-Chadayamangalam KSRTC Bus. The incident occurred at Chalakkudy. Santhosh lost about Rs 1,7000 which was later recovered from Reghu.Some co-passengers including Satheesan of Sreesadanam in Neyyattinkara questioned Reghu and manhandled him in the bus. They allegedly attacked Reghu even after the latter alighted from the bus at the KSRTC bus station here. Reghu, who collapsed following the attack, was rushed to the Perumbavoor Taluk Hospital where he was declared brought dead. Two persons, Satheesan and Santhosh, have been taken into custody. They are being questioned by top police pfficials. Satheesan is reportedly serving as the gunman of K Sudhakaran MP. The MP, however, refused to comment on the issue.
