The Met Department said that once the wind speed increases, the dust haze will disperse.
Mumbai: Mumbaikars woke up to a dusty haze over the city on Wednesday, which the Met Dept attributed to a dust storm in Rajasthan deserts.
"There is a dust storm in Rajasthan and its effects are being noticed here. Northerly winds are carrying the dust," Rajeev Nair, director of Met Dept said.
"Once the wind speed increases, the dust haze will disperse. We expect that to happen by evening or at most by tomorrow morning."
Those allergic to dust should be careful," he said, adding that similar dust haze was also reported from parts of Gujarat and areas north of Mumbai, such as Dahanu.
