In today’s busy lives the love for pets is perhaps the best form of instant stress busting. Nothing can beat the absolute loyalty and affection of these furry creatures. Bringing a dog into one’s family calls for a lot of responsibility but it can give you loads of love and happiness in return. Here are a few Kochiite celebs who have adorable four-legged friends.Cuckoo and BruThe good looking actor of Thillana Thillana and Traffic and the restaurateur of ‘Tandoor’ at MG road, Krishna is a true animal lover. “I am more of dog lover than an animal lover. I have a labrador and a dalmatian and I call them Cuckoo and Bru,” says Krishna, who will be seen next in the forthcoming movie Ee Thirakkinidayil. “The lab is five months old and has a mild and friendly personality whereas Bru is a ferocious yet beautiful dalmatian.”“I take them along with me for evening walks and like spending time playing with them. When I am out for work my wife takes care of them,” he says. Krishna also owns a few love birds which he has maintained in a cage in his beautiful lush garden.Patchi, the lazy pugFormer Miss Kerala 2000 and the anchor of the popular reality show Idea Star Singer, Ranjini Haridas is another ardent animal lover. “My first pet was Tikku, a stray that my father brought home when he was just one. I was very attached to him, he was like my first brother. He stayed with us for twelve years and died of old age. It took me a long time to get over him. I didn’t get a pet after that because I felt guilty of giving his share of love to someone else.”Very recently her family got themselves a pug named Patchi for her mother’s company since she stays mostly on her own at home. “Pugs are usually calm, docile and happy with the attention they get and Patchi is a very lazy pug. He sleeps most of the time but is also a very clever dog, he instantly knows it when he has done something wrong.”“I love spending time with my dog and I personally take him to the Cochin Pet Hospital for regular check-ups,” she adds.A guinea pig named GaiKV Thomas, a well-known member of the Indian Parliament is not behind the others when it comes to loving animals. His family owns a pug, two rabbits and a guinea pig. “Kokko, the one-year-old pug is very active. He is very lovable and attached to me and prefers sleeping with me,” says Thomas. For somebody with such a busy schedule it is difficult for him to take care of their needs and so his grandchildren look after them. But he makes sure that vet comes over to his place and the pets get regular check-ups. “The rabbits Mini and Manu and the guinea pig named Gai are looked after in our kitchen garden,” he adds.  Those who like pets but never thought of owning one are sure losing out on the whole extraordinary experience with these synonyms of loyalty. As they say in the movie Marley and Me - “A dog doesn’t care if you are rich or poor, clever or dull, smart or dumb. Give him your heart and he will give you his. How many people can you say that about? How many people can make you feel rare and pure and special? How many people can make you feel extraordinary?”
