His strong remarks follow protests against the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital and the sexual abuse of two four-year-old school girls in Badlapur near Mumbai. A 26-year-old migrant from West Bengal was beaten to death earlier this week by a mob in Haryana’s Charkhi Dadri district over suspicions that he had consumed beef.
