New Delhi: The CBI has made some more headway into the Nithari murders. A preliminary examination of the skeletal remains recovered from the drain near main accused Moninder Singh Pandher's house indicates that the bones recovered did not date back to more than two years.
PTI quoted CBI sources as saying that the skeltal remains had been sent to All India Institute of Medical Sciences for examination including the photo imaging of the skulls and individualisation of bones.
The PTI report also quoted CBI as saying that only 15 skulls had been found so far and not 17 as claimed by the Uttar Pradesh Police.
The finger and foot prints had been sent to Hyderabad for the same purpose along with the bio-material, including viscera, found near the house of Pandher who, along with his servant Surendra Koli, are the main accused in the case and in CBI's custody till January 25.
The individualisation of body parts for their identification, skeletal remains and other things were being done round-the-clock by scientists and doctors in AIIMS and Forensic Sciences Laboratory.

On Thursday, CBI Director Vijay Shanker met Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and briefed him about the investigations into the Nithari serial killings.
The CBI also received the list of missing children which was provided by the Bulandsher Police of Uttar Pradesh.
According to PTI, the process of collecting the DNA samples of parents claiming to have lost their children in Nithari begun.
