One held for murder

Thampanoor police on Saturday arrested a person in connection with the murder of a man.

 Suresh, 35, alias Oolathi Suresh of Karimadom, has been arrested allegedly for killing Jacob, 59, a cancer patient of Malayinkeezh, by crushing his head with a stone.  The incident happened on Tuesday midnight when Jacob, separated from his family years ago, was sleeping in front of a shop near the Overbridge.

Police said that Suresh who used rob money from people sleeping on roadsides, tried to take money from Jacob’s pocket and attacked him with a stone when the latter resisted the attempt. Suresh was remanded to police custody.
