The incident took place in Jamuhar village of Gaya district in Bihar last week, when the toddler spotted a snake while he was playing on his terrace and allegedly bit the snake. The mother of the toddler said that the child was playing on the terrace when he picked up the reptile mistaking it for a toy, and allegedly bit it. When she saw the baby chewing the snake, she immediately took it out of his mouth and took the child to the hospital.

Medical staff at the health centre examined the child and confirmed that he was physically unharmed declared him healthy. They explained that the snake was non-venomous and is commonly found in the region during the monsoon season.

A video circulating among the netizens showed the child in the arms of a woman, while a man attempted to gently open the boy’s mouth. The man held up a phone displaying an image of the snake, with part of its body appearing to have been crushed.

Earlier in July, in another incident, a snake bit a man in Bihar’s Rajauli, who then bit the reptile back in the belief that it would reverse the venom’s effect. The snake died, while the man was rushed to a hospital where he survived with proper medical treatment.

Similarly, bizarre case of a snake repeatedly biting 24-year-old Vikas Dubey from Uttar Pradesh’s Soura village prompted local authorities to take action. Amidst reports of Vikas being bitten seven times in just 40 days, concerns over the unusual behavior of the snake have escalated.

In just one and a half months, Dubey survived six snake bites. Each time the man was attacked by a snake, he was taken to the hospital, treated and allowed to go after making a full recovery. The first event happened on June 2, right after Dubey got out of bed at his residence. He was taken to a neighbouring hospital and given medical attention. Dubey suffered six snake bites between June 2 and July 6.
