Pak blinks but does not give in to India's demands

Islamabad: Almost a week after the India gave Pakistan the dossier on the mumbai attacks.. New Delhi is still waiting a response..

“There’s been no reply from Pakistan yet on the dossier on Mumbai terror attacks,” said Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma.

But Islamabad says it is working on it. Top officials of the foreign office and security agencies met on Saturday to formulate a response to the dossier and is likely to be handed over by Monday.

Highly placed sources in Islamabad say the ISI has assessed the proof and it claims that nowhere does the material indicate a Pakistani hand in the attack. The proof is not sufficient to probe anything. It also wants access to the crime scene.

But Pak prime minister accused the world of playing favourites. Away from the diplomatic wrangling was Pervez Musharraf, once in-charge of Pakistan during happier days who came out of hibernation. On his way to Washington, he had nothing less than a war cry.

“How can anyone talk about conducting surgical strikes in Pak? Hamne hathon mein chudiyan nahin paheni hain (We aren’t wearing bangles here in Pak). Even we can conduct surgical strikes,” he said.
