Pak troops fire along LoC again, no casualties
Over 40 ceasefire violations have been reported this year.

Jammu: In yet another violation of the ceasefire, Pakistani troops fired on Indian positions in the Poonch sector in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday night, but there were no casualties.

Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing on Indian posts in Mendhar and Krishanghati between 1955 hrs and 2020 hrs on Sunday, Brigadier General (Staff), 16 Corps, Gurdeep Singh told PTI.

There were no casualties, he said adding Indian troops did not retaliate.

Pakistani troops fired small arms on Manji Takri and Sabri Gali forward posts, the Brigadier said adding "we will register a strong protest soon".

The firing lasted 15 to 20 minutes, he said.

Till now, over 40 incidents of ceasefire violation have been reported this year.

In 2003, India and Pakistan declared a ceasefire along the Line of Control as part of confidence-building measures.
