Pakistan must act against 26/11 culprits: PM
PM Manmohan Singh on Saturday spoke about the Mumbai terror attacks.

Mumbai: India has given enough proof that terrorists responsible for the November 26 attacks on India's commercial capital were from Pakistan and Islamabad bring them to book, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Saturday.

"Pakistan must work against Lashkar-e-Toiba, and other terrorist outfits must be shut down, in its own interest,” the Prime Minister stated at The Economic Times Awards function at the Trident Hotel, one of the 10 properties targeted during the November 26 attacks.

“Pakistan must ensure such attacks like in Mumbai and on our embassy in Kabul don't happen again,” he said in the speech, which he began after asking the guests to observe a minute's silence as a mark of respect to those who died in the attack.

“We have shared the evidence with Pakistan and other nations as well about the attack. We expect Pakistan to come up with disclosures soon. These evidences will be made public in a few days,” the Prime Minister said.

“If Pakistan is true in words, it must show it in action.”

Recollecting his “three happy years in Mumbai” when he was the governor of the Central Bank in the 1980s, Manmohan Singh said the city represented a democratic and free India and that was the reason why it was targeted by terrorists.

“I assure the people of Mumbai that we'll do our best to ensure such attacks do not happen again in the future,” he said.
