Parliament was adjourned till noon on Monday amidst pandemonium over various issues, including Telangana and price rise.
As soon as Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha met for the day, members of Telugu Desam Party, Left and BSP rushed to the Well raising their demands. In the Lok Sabha, TDP members opposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and displayed placards in the Well that said 'Save Andhra Pradesh'.
BSP members displayed copies of news reports regarding the plight of Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) riot victims taking shelter in relief camps. Left parties moved an adjournment motion on price rise and demanded a discussion on it. Some MPs from Kerala protested against the import of rubber and demanded a complete ban on it.
As the uproar continued, Speaker Meira Kumar adjourned the House till noon. Similar scenes were witnessed in the Rajya Sabha where BSP members trooped into the Well to demand dismissal of Uttar Pradesh government. They showed newspaper reports that said children had died in Muzaffarnagar relief camps.
SP members too were on their feet, but they could not be heard in the din. Two TDP members too were in the Well displaying placard in favour of united Andhra Pradesh. Chairman Hamid Ansari repeatedly asked members not to display banners and return to their seats.
As members did not heed his request, he adjourned the House till noon.
