PIL seeks Udayakumars arrest

MADURAI: A public interest writ petition has been filed at the Madurai High Court Bench seeking directions to the Superintendent of Police at Tirunelveli to take action against S P Udayakumar, convener of People’s Movement Against Nuclear Energy on several cases pending against him with the police under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).According to the petitioner R Ravikumar, Udayakumar had been involving himself in unlawful activities since 2007. A complaint is pending against Udayakumar for failing to abide with the order promulgated by public servant and several other complaints have been registered against him for his unlawful protests, he said.
