Chandigarh: Chandigarh Police on Saturday claimed to have discovered two tunnels in Burail Jail in Chandigarh.

This information was given to Chandigarh Police by one of the main accused in the Beant Singh assassination, Paramjit Singh Bheora.

Bheora, chief of Sikh terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and one of the most wanted militants in the country, was nabbed by the Delhi Police Special Cell team after a brief encounter near Karnal on March 20. Two of his associates were also arrested.

The Operation Cell of the Chandigarh Police had then brought Bheora to Chandigarh on Wednesday night. A local court had on Thursday remanded Bheora to five day police custody.

In January 22, 2004, Bheora, Jagtar Singh Hawara, Tara and Devi Singh had tunneled their way out of Burail Jail.

While Hawara is back in Burail Jail, Bheora would soon follow once his police custody ends.
