Protesters want Idukki included in Tamil Nadu

MUNNAR: Over 150 persons, including AIADMK activists and autorickshaw and taxi drivers, took out rally from Munnar to Chinnar on Tuesday demanding that Idukki district should be annexed to Tamil Nadu.“The protesters raised slogans supporting Tamil Nadu and Jayalalithaa. The police have registered cases for taking out the protest rally without permission and disrupting public harmony. No arrest has been made in this regard. More police personnel have been deployed at Chinnar and major station checkposts. The police are deployed in Munnar city following the incident,” District Police head George Varghese said.
