KOCHI: The norms and procedures of the Public Works Department (PWD) will be reformed in a manner that will be suitable for the situations prevalent in the state, said Public Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju. After reforming the PWD Manual, the government has now taken steps to bring changes in the codes and data book, he said.He was delivering the presidential address at the launch function of the e-tendering for the pre-qualification criteria in the PWD. “e-tendering is a huge leap towards the goal of corruption-free governance. This technique will help to make tendering procedures more efficient and speedy. Contractors will be able to read the tender documents and also participate in the tendering procedure through the website. This method will also encourage a healthy competition among the contractors,” the minister said. With the implementation of e-tendering, all the tenders coming under the pre-qualification criteria will be published and accepted through the Kerala government’s e-tendering website www.etenders.kerala.gov.in
