Four persons, including the brother of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, were injured when their car collided head on with a mini truck on Raipur-Balodabazar Road on Sunday, police said.

Four persons, including the brother of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, were injured when their car collided head on with a mini truck on Raipur-Balodabazar Road on Sunday, police said.

Chief Minister's elder brother Ashok Singh and his wife Aarti Singh, their assistant Naresh Som and driver S Shivan were injured in the mishap that took place near a petrol pump under Kharora police station limits on way to Shivrinarayan from Raipur, Superintendent of Police OP Pal said.

Ashok received injures on the chest and hand, while his wife sustained injuries on her forehead, he said. Naresh and driver suffered minor injuries, Pal said adding that Ashok Singh's son and daughter-in-law, who were also in the car, escaped unharmed.

Soon after the incident, the injured were rushed to a local hospital from where they were shifted to Ram Krishna Care Hospital in Raipur.  They are said to be stable, the SP said.

After the mishap, truck driver - Rizwan escaped from the spot, but was later nabbed, he said.

Chief Minister Raman Singh visited Ramkrishna Hospital to enquire about the health of his brother and others.
