CHENNAI:  The Madras High Court has imposed a cost of `10,000 on social activist ‘Traffic’ K R Ramaswamy for making a wrong submission in his writ petition relating to constitution of the Lokpal Bill Drafting Committee. In his public interest writ petition, Ramaswamy prayed for a direction to the Centre to include a representative from the southern states, particularly from Tamil Nadu. He had claimed that he had sent a representation to the Centre on April 21. But, it was sent by Usha, who claimed to his PA. “It appears that the petitioner has scant respect for this court... It is clear that the writ petition is publicity-oriented with no semblance of public interest,” the court held.
