MADURAI: A woman wanted by the CBI for allegedly securing a loan of Rs 1.5 crore from a bank by producing fake documents surrendered before the CBI court in Madurai on Wednesday.Indira and her husband, Easwar, a businessman of Oormel Azhagian village near Tenkasi in Tirunelveli district, have been charged with cheating the Indian Bank by pledging fake property documents and obtaining a loan of Rs 1.5 crore in 2007.Indira surrendered at the CBI court on Thursday and was remanded in 15 days of judicial custody.According to sources from the Central Bureau of Investigation, the couple was running a chain of business firms, including a poultry farm, and taken the loan. When the bank found the documents submitted by them to be fake, it lodged a complaint with the CBI, which filed a case against the couple, branch manager of the bank Sridharan and some others. The CBI had arrested Sridharan, Easwar and some others while Indira was absconding. Her husband is now out on bail.
