CHENNAI: Screams and shouts rent the otherwise calm atmosphere of the IIT-M campus on Friday night, as one of Saarang’s signature pro shows was in progress. Dynamic music director Devi Sri Prasad took the stage by storm, sending the audience into a whirl of excitement.Known for his energetic stage performances, DSP, as he is called, did not disappoint the crowd in the packed OAT. He enchanted the audience by starting off with his hit number ‘Jalsa’ in both Tamil and Telugu.Dressed in a black jacket, white t-shirt and jeans, DSP played to the IIT crowd sentiment by leading them through a musical chorus of “IIT, IIT”. Feigning confusion as to what language to use to address his audience, he said, “Since it is IIT, I am throwing in a few English words whether I am singing a Tamil, Telugu or Hindi song.”His delightful dance moves kept the audience alive and as the show closed with ‘Ringa Ringa’, he left everyone asking for more.Finalists of popular college band competition ‘Tarang’ opened for the show.
