Situation grim in Athagarh

ATHAGARH: Situation continues to remain grim in 127 villages of Athagarh subdivision. As many as 1,16,469 people have been affected with 2,376 houses damaged by the gushing flood water. Over 13,000 hectares of crop land too lay submerged.
The administration is running 31 free kitchens for the floodhit, while 21 medical teams are engaged in disinfecting the areas from where water is receding and the drinking water sources. According to reports, 212 tubewells and 172 open wells have so far been disinfected.Rice, beaten rice, jaggery, water pouches and cattle feed are being distributed among the flood victims.
