BHUBANESWAR: Ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled visit to Orissa from July 13, Congressmen have geared up to ensure that it is a success with senior party leader Jagdish Tytler arriving here on Sunday to oversee the arrangements.“Preparations are in full swing for Rahulji’s visit which will go a long way in strengthening the party,” said Tytler, AICC’s Orissa in-charge, soon after his arrival. Tytler discussed the arrangements with senior party leaders, including OPCC chief Niranjan Patnaik. AICC secretary in-charge of Orissa Mirza Irshad Baig was also present. On the first day of his arrival on July 13, Rahul will visit Jharsuguda, Kotpad and Baripada.Sources in the OPCC said he would participate in road shows in places where he is scheduled to visit. He will cover five districts -Nabarangpur, Jharsuguda, Bhadrak, Puri and Khurda- during the visit.The Congress leader would meet public during the first half of July 14. In the afternoon, he would address a public meeting here. He will also address public meetings at Puri and Bhadrak on the same day.Senior Congressmen have been put in charge of districts, to be visited by him, to monitor the preparations. Former chief minister Hemananda Biswal will be in charge of Jharsuguda visit while former MP Anant Prasad Sethi will coordinate Bhadrak programme.OPCC working president Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra has been kept in charge of Puri programme while former MLA Sujit Padhi will oversee Baripada visit. Former MLA Chinmoy Prasad Behura has been kept in charge of Kotpad visit.
